Vintage 1980's Talk 'N Play Electronic Childrens Learning System Please Read

I am listing this as is for parts or parts or repair, it does not come with the electrical cord So is the unit only. It also will work on 4-D size batteries but but I put batteries in it and when you push play or any of the other buttons you can hear there is power to it with a quiet hum but but nothing turns or works I just hear a faint hum.
I did try it with newer batteries but there is a possibility they were not strong enough to power it or it could need some kind of repair. Please please know this if you decide to purchase it that it will need work to to operate properly.
